Having started training in 1986, Jeremy has extensive experience in a wide variety of settings, including as a full time therapist in the National Health Service, and now as a psychotherapist in Brighton, and despite his solid trainings and approaches, he is lively and involved in national policy, research and sector-leading initiatives. He currently works in the NHS, private practice, higher education, other national and global projects.
He has also taught and supervised many CBT therapists in the NHS, as well as practitioners in other forms of therapy and also teaches a local Brighton CBT training.
He has been the chair of the largest Counselling and Psychotherapy organisation in Brighton, offering around 35,000 sessions a year, is the director of another service. With his specialism in working with younger people, he is the chair of the University and Colleges Division of the British Association for Counselling and has been the Project Director for Students Against Depression.
Jeremy specialises in CBT in Brighton and his own service. He is interested in the integration of CBT with other approaches, and the effective use of evidence-based practice. His own service specialises in the evidence-based therapies, and is developing this service nationally.
Jeremy has considerable experience in working with younger people [above the age of 14], drug users, post trauma work as well the range of anxiety disorders, depression and other, more enduring, mental health problems.
Jeremy is a practising Counselling Psychologist, and in additional trainings, has Post-Graduate qualifications in several major approaches to counselling, (including in CBT), and clinical supervision, and in Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy. This focuses on the evidence based (best proven) therapies, which he also teaches. He has published articles in the field of psychotherapy.
He has undertaken training directly from the leading professors & clinicians in the UK for CBT in the common mental health problems, for general anxiety, depression, social anxiety, OCD, and any other difficulties. Jeremy has also trained extensively in the United States with world pioneers of CBT, Aaron and Judith Beck and other leading CBT clincians there.
He has previously been registered by the UKCP, and currently has senior Accreditation with the British Association for Counselling (MBACP [Snr. Accred.]), is Accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) for his CBT work and is Registered as Practising Counselling Psychologist with the HCPC, The Heath Care Professions Council.

Please contact us for an initial discussion how we may be able to help.
The initial consultation can be 20 or 50 minutes usually lasts 50 minutes for either £20 for a short meeting, or the normal rate for a longer meeting. There will be an opportunity to discuss what you hope to achieve in therapy and the frequency and number of sessions required.
The published hourly rate for qualified (BABCP accredited) therapists across sussex is around £80. Jeremy charges £75 per 50 minute session in Brighton during the evening and £70 during the day for CBT and has some reduced fee slots. Sessions once underway are often less frequent than weekly, this can make it more affordable.
He can also have sessions by phone or email, if you have difficulty in coming to the sessions for any reason. Follow-up sessions, longer meetings or travelling time (if home sessions are required) are charged pro rata. Concessions are available, please ask.
His clinic is very close to Brighton station.
